Story of the Week

A few years ago a couple of friends of ours, two young ladies who were attending BYU, were at Costco buying some soda for a party.  While they were in line they noticed the lady in front of them was giving them dirty looks.  Kind of odd, but fortunately for them (and for us) the lady decided to explain why she was so angry with them when she blurted out to the cashier (this may not be word for word, but it’s close), “I just love Costco because it is a great family store where people shouldn’t shop unless they are married!”

This happened in Provo.

So beware Costco shoppers… make sure you put on a fake wedding ring the next time you hit the Provo Costco if you aren’t married.  Or, for even more protection, be sure to bring someone that can pretend they are married to you.

Do you have any crazy, weird or wacky stories like this one?  Be sure to tell us through email or via comment and you may WIN A T-SHIRT from The Bubble!!!

that is so sad and funny at the same time. Seriously? Did you get my story about my wedding? submitted it a while ago, never heard anything back. Just checking…also Summer Games are starting down in our tiny corner of the state. It’s quite a cool little Utah tradition, that many people don’t know about. Might be worth noting or something….

They should have put their arms around each other and said, ” We couldn’t agree more. Honey, how many times have we been here since the wedding?” That would have give them a whole new round of looks.

After college at Utah State I returned home to San Diego and began my public school teaching career. Seven years later I met my soul mate and we married. Before long we were a family of 5 with 3 beautiful young children.

I couldn’t wait to get back to ‘family friendly’ Utah where I could show off my great family to old friends and to relax around other parents who ‘understood’. After a long car ride up from St. George we were all ready for a nice meal at a restaurant across the street from the Salt Lake Temple grounds. We made our order and the kids began coloring in coloring books. Suddenly the manager comes up and says there’s been a complaint. Could we keep the kids quiet? First: NO! Second: NO!! Third: this is Utah right..??

Yes we had to come all the way to Utah to have our first public complaint about our kids…..*sniffle* makes a mom so proud
